The University of Arizona is ranked in the top five universities in the nation for producing graduates with foreign language degrees!  According to a recent analysis by The Chronicle of Higher Education, the U of A confers the fifth most bachelor's degrees in the category of foreign languages, literature and linguistics of any U.S. university. The Chronicle published statistical snapshots of bachelor's degrees conferred by colleges in 32 disciplines over time, from 2018 to 2023, using data from the U.S. Department of Education.The degrees were awarded from July 1 to June 30 of each period, with only first majors considered. The rankings are for the 2022-2023 academic year, with U of A conferring 149 degrees in foreign languages, literature and linguistics. The U of A earned top five placements in three other categories as well:Military technologies and applied sciences: No. 2, 196 degrees conferredLegal professions and studies: No. 4, 151 degrees conferredScience technologies/technicians: No. 4, 42 degrees conferred
