"Clusters" include hyperarousal, emotional dysregulation, hyperactivity/neurocognitive, and cognitive inflexibility. Once the primary cluster with the greatest impact on patient functioning is known, then the algorithm decision tree identifies a first-line and second-line medication to prescribe.
