Introducing Ari - Your Easy-to-Use AI Assistant! Meet Ari, your personal AI assistant, right on your device! Similar to ChatGPT-5 and other popular AI assistants, Ari operates entirely offline, meaning no need for an internet connection. Your privacy is our priority – Ari doesn't collect any of your personal data. Start Ari anywhere with Siri and App Intents — just say "Ask Ari," speak your question, and hear the answer back. Power users get a full Shortcuts action catalog: Ask Ari with any available model (Apple Intelligence, downloaded local models, or your configured cloud providers), start conversations, generate and edit images, analyze PDFs and documents, speak responses aloud, read and change Ari's settings, queue code-session tasks on your Mac, and dispatch prompts to other devices — all chainable in the Shortcuts app. Ari is on your wrist too: the included Apple Watch app remote-controls Ari on your iPhone. Dictate a question from the "Ask Ari" complication or Smart Stack widget, watch the answer stream in, have it spoken aloud, and hand long answers off to your iPhone. Questions queue automatically when your iPhone is out of reach, and private conversations are never accessible from the watch. Your conversations show up in system Spotlight too — including by what's IN their images. Ari can read the text and recognize the objects in chat pictures entirely on-device so you can search for "that screenshot with the receipt". Private conversations and their media are never indexed. And with Sensitive Content Warning enabled in iOS Settings, Ari blurs flagged images behind a "Show Anyway" interstitial before they're ever displayed (verified adults can opt out). More to love: built-in Text-to-Speech (your device voice or the premium Ava voice); long-press any message to copy it or to retry a prompt — even across models; code syntax highlighting with one-tap code-block copy; and a Previous Chats menu that syncs your history across your Apple devices via iCloud. On devices with Apple Intelligence (iOS 26 / macOS 26), Ari chats using Apple's on-device foundation model by default — fully private, no API key, and no internet connection required. Prefer something else? Pick any model from the menu. You can download and run on-device models with a tap. On first launch Ari offers to download Google's Gemma 4 vision model — and automatically picks the version that best fits your device — so you can send photos and images to a fully offline assistant. There are more tested models with simple download buttons, or you can paste a URL to a specific model you want to use. Ari can even interact with self hosted models from Ollama running on your Mac or Generate Images with DrawThings over gRPC. Beyond on-device and self-hosted models, Ari also connects to leading cloud models using your own API keys: OpenAI (GPT-5 family and GPT Image), xAI Grok (4.x plus Grok Imagine image and video), Anthropic Claude (Opus, Sonnet and Haiku 4.x), Google Gemini (3.x plus Imagen and Veo), and AWS Bedrock. Image-capable cloud models accept photos for multimodal prompts, and you can import text and source-code files for analysis. Whenever you use a cloud model, Ari reminds you that data sent to a provider is subject to that provider's privacy policy and terms. Note: Because Ari now syncs via iCloud, to ensure your conversations remain privately yours and fully encrypted, Please ensure you enable Advanced Data Protection in your Device's iCloud settings. Failure to enable this feature simply means your conversations with Ari are not fully encrypted but still are only accessible to those who have access to your iCloud account.
