Love a Lamp: Calm Ambience app analytics for October 25

Slow, molten, and endlessly watchable. Love a Lamp turns any screen into a glowing lamp of molten wax — blobs that heat, rise, swell, merge, cool, and sink, driven by a real physics simulation rather than a looping video. It never repeats. Put it on your Mac while you work. Leave it on the TV at a party. Keep it in the corner of your Home Screen. It asks for nothing and it never nags. COLOUR IT HOWEVER YOU LIKE Twelve built-in themes, from Classic red-on-amber to Ocean, Volcano, Aurora and Toxic. Save your own from any pair of colours you land on. Or turn on Fade Mode and let it drift slowly from one theme to the next while you get on with your day. TUNE THE FLOW Heat changes how urgently the wax climbs. Wax changes how much of it there is — turn it up for a few heavy masses, down for a swarm of small ones. Spread, edge softness and the warm bottom light are all yours to adjust. Switch on Backlit to light the wax from the bulb underneath, the way a real lamp glows: translucent blobs that cast shadows on each other, convection haze and a little grain. Or Glass Material, for something closer to molten glass than wax. ON YOUR MAC A small lamp that floats above your windows, drags anywhere you want it, and falls to rest on the Dock or the top of a window. Control it from the menu bar without opening anything. A screen saver comes bundled. The app offers to install it on first launch, macOS asks you to confirm, and then it is there in System Settings. ON YOUR IPHONE AND IPAD Widgets in three sizes for the Home Screen. A Live Activity that puts your lamp, in your colours, on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Plug into a monitor or AirPlay to a display and the lamp fills it properly, edge to edge, instead of letterboxing your phone's shape onto it. ON APPLE TV AND APPLE VISION PRO Full-screen ambience for the room, driven from the remote. On Vision Pro the lamp sits in your space with settings tucked into an ornament beside it. QUIET BY DESIGN No account. No sign-in. No ads. No subscription. Nothing to unlock. Analytics are off until you turn them on. On iPhone, iPad and Mac the app asks exactly once; on Apple TV and Vision Pro it never asks. If you say no, nothing is ever sent. If you say yes, it is anonymous — no name, no email, no advertising identifier, no location, and never the colours you choose. You can change your mind any time in Settings. Your settings follow you between devices through your own iCloud account. The screen stays awake while the lamp is open, and Ambient Mode hides everything else so it can just run.
