WEAR is an AUv3 texture processor designed for making audio feel uncertain.
WEAR makes no sound on its own—it is an audio effect designed to be loaded inside a compatible AUv3 host. Place it after pianos, guitars, vocals, drums, synthesizers, field recordings, or other audio sources to introduce filtered, warbled movement and texture.
Built around instability, movement, and degradation, WEAR reshapes incoming audio through a collection of processes designed to add character.
RATE and DEPTH introduce pitch modulation. GATE responds dynamically to the incoming signal, allowing quieter material to become increasingly unstable while louder sounds push through. FILTER reshapes the frequency range, while GRIME, WASH, and ROOM introduce different forms of texture, space, and degradation.
The result can range from subtle movement to extreme transformation depending on what you dial in.
WEAR intentionally includes no presets. Its behavior depends heavily on the material being passed through it, so it is designed to be adjusted by ear for each sound rather than treated as a collection of fixed effects.
Exploration is encouraged.
