About local protection and VPN Local protection stops blocked app traffic using the Android VPN interface on your device. Global VPN routes selected apps through a remote VPN server. Combined operation depends on your Android and app version. Blocked apps can still open and display previously downloaded content. Notifications delivered through shared system services may still arrive. Removing visible notifications requires optional Notification Access. Linked desktop and web sessions are not affected by these rules. Global VPN connection time has a daily allowance. Optional rewarded ads can provide extra time. Connections may use third-party volunteer-operated servers; availability, speed and location can vary. NetDefendy does not operate or control these volunteer servers.
