It aggregates publicly available information. In an emergency ALWAYS call 112. 🛰️ SATELLITE DETECTIONS • NASA FIRMS (VIIRS & MODIS): thermal hotspots across the country, coloured by freshness. • FireHub (National Observatory of Athens): active hotspots in near real time (~5-15 min). 🚒 OFFICIAL SOURCES • Hellenic Fire Service announcements for forest fires, with their status (in progress / partially / fully contained), placed on the map. • 112 alerts: the evacuation messages themselves on the map, with push even when the app is closed — and navigation to the safe location when one is given. Consecutive messages of the same fire are grouped so the LATEST instruction stands out. • Daily fire-risk map of the General Secretariat for Civil Protection. 🌬️ WIND EVERYWHERE • Real measurements (meteo.gr, airport METAR) and Open-Meteo forecast at every hotspot, at your location and at the map centre — because in a fire, wind is everything. ☁️ SPREAD ESTIMATE • Tap a fire inside a covered area and see estimate zones for up to 6 hours — from the scientific ELMFIRE model (15 scenarios), with real wind, terrain and the national fuel map of Greece. • In strong wind the horizon is limited to 4 hours, because the estimate ages faster. • When a fire is satellite-confirmed, zones are shared automatically with everyone. • An automatic ESTIMATE — NOT a prediction. Never a basis for evacuation decisions; always follow 112 and the authorities. 🎯 WHERE IS THE FIRE? • See smoke? Aim at it with the camera — the app estimates its position on the terrain and shows it on the map, with distance in km. 📷 CITIZEN REPORT • Aim with the camera and send — after an automatic image check it appears to everyone as an "unconfirmed" pin for 2 hours. Your photo is NEVER published and is deleted after 30 days.
