Unfold, pull a tape in, fold, listen.
Bionic Tape turns your phone into a cassette deck – made for foldables, at home on any smartphone. Unfolded, your playlists and albums sit on the shelf as cassettes, each in its case with cover art. Hold a tape and drag it into the deck – the case opens and the cassette clicks in. Fold the phone, and the tape rolls on the cover screen: reels spin, the tape hisses, the keys click.
WHAT'S INSIDE
• Fold instead of tap: the hinge decides whether you pick tapes or listen. Folding starts playback.
• Keys you can press: real 3D keys with travel, click and haptics. PLAY latches while the tape is running.
• Volume wheel: a ridged thumb wheel with 16 detents, each one clicks.
• Window: look through the window at the cassette with its handwritten label and the current song. The tape pack shows how much of the tape is left.
• Tent mode: turn the folded phone sideways and the cassette becomes the show, with your playlist's cover art as the label. Tap to play/pause, swipe for the next track.
• Eight skins: Classic retro blue, Sport in bold 80s yellow, 2008, Dot, Bionic OS, Cyberpunk, HMZ.swiss and Llama Amp.
• TAPE FX: hiss and clicks can be switched off.
• Shelf: a tab per music source, RECENT for your latest tapes, search, and remove tapes you don't need.
• Nothing Phone: Dot skin with a 3-band equalizer and the Glyph lights as level meter.
MUSIC
• YouTube Music: your playlists and Liked Music as cassettes, played through the official YouTube Music app. Background playback requires YouTube Music Premium. Google sign-in only reads your playlists.
• Your own music: MP3, FLAC, AAC and OGG files as tapes, every album a cassette. Plays offline and in the background.
• Apple Music: your library playlists and albums as cassettes, played inside Bionic Tape, also in the background. Requires an Apple Music subscription.
• Plex: albums and playlists from your own Plex server, at home and on the go.
• Demo tapes: work right away, no account needed.
FOLDABLE FIRST – WORKS ON ANY PHONE
Bionic Tape is made for foldables like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, where the hinge is the controller. It runs on any Android smartphone too: since version 1.0.1, regular phones get their own layout – a desk cassette recorder with speaker grille, rotary volume knob and a row of keys. Pull a tape down to play it; a button takes you back to the shelf.
