Corterra Sismos brings the earthquakes of Panama and the region together in one place, with the source, the time and the distance from the place you choose. WHAT YOU GET • One catalog: IGC of the University of Panama, OVSICORI-UNA, USGS and an EMSC reserve. Every earthquake shows magnitude, depth, place, agency and data age. • A live seismograph from the BCIP station at the Panama Canal, streamed from EarthScope, with two Costa Rican stations as automatic fallbacks. You always see where the signal comes from and how old it is. • Notices based on what was probably felt where you are. A loud alarm for strong or close earthquakes; a regular notice for those probably felt; a silent notice for those possibly felt. It is computed from distance, depth and magnitude with a published intensity model (Allen, Wald and Worden, 2012). • Widgets for iPhone, iPad and Mac: a dated summary of the past 24 hours and the trend against the day before. • Mac: a compact desktop monitor and a night mode while charging. • Apple Watch: the summary on your wrist. • An earthquake map and seven days of history. • Spanish, English and Russian; light and dark themes. Your place stays on your device. If you enable notices, the server stores an encrypted notification token and the name and coordinates of your chosen reference to calculate and deliver notices. IMPORTANT Corterra Sismos reports earthquakes that have already happened, after an agency publishes them. It is not an official early-warning system and does not predict earthquakes. Intensity is an estimate, not a measurement: ground and building can change it. Delivery and sound of notices depend on connectivity and system settings. In an earthquake, follow SINAPROC's guidance.
