Learn Lua - Game Scripting App-Analysen für 21. Oktober

Learn Lua, the small and fast scripting language behind many games, from your first print() to metatables and coroutines. Write code in the built-in editor and run it right on your phone: a Lua 5.3 interpreter runs on the device, so there is no PC and nothing to set up. Honest heads-up: this is a Lua programming course. It is not Roblox and not a game engine, and it is not made by or affiliated with Roblox Corporation. Roblox scripts are written in Luau, a language built on Lua, so the Lua basics you learn here carry straight over when you open Roblox Studio on a computer. WHY LEARN LUA? • Lua is one of the easiest first programming languages: small, readable and forgiving • Luau scripting, LÖVE (Love2D) games, Neovim plugins, Redis scripts and embedded tools all build on Lua • Variables, loops, functions and tables carry over to every language you learn next WHAT YOU'LL LEARN • 40 courses and 159 short lessons, from A1 beginner to C1 advanced • Basics: variables, types, operators, strings and math • Control flow: if/elseif/else, for loops and while loops • Functions, closures, scope and iterators • Tables, Lua's all-in-one data structure, plus metatables and metamethods • Object-oriented programming, inheritance and a class system from scratch • Error handling with pcall, modules and require, coroutines • Game logic scripting and game development with LÖVE • Advanced: embedding Lua in C, LuaJIT and FFI, OpenResty, Redis scripting and Neovim plugins CODE MINI GAMES STEP BY STEP • 20 guided game projects: Pong, Snake, Flappy, Brick Breaker, Space Shooter, Maze Escape, Tower Defense and more • Each step asks you to write a few lines of code, then checks that the game really does it: the ball moves, the score goes up • 3 obby-style tracks practise Roblox-style scripting patterns (Parts, Vector3, Touched events, leaderstats) in a simplified simulator, good prep for Luau • Stuck on a step? Take a hint or reveal the solution PRACTICE EVERY DAY • A mobile Lua IDE: code editor with instant runs and clear error messages • 60 coding missions from easy to hard, with XP • Quizzes, flashcard reviews and a Lua cheat sheet • World Coding Challenge: 3 global rounds every day • Streaks, XP and progress tracking AI MENTOR • Ask for help with a lesson or an error message and get a clear explanation • Free: 3 AI questions a day inside lessons. Pro: unlimited AI mentor chat, the AI lesson generator and AI code review FREE AND PRO • Free: the first course, the code editor, 3 game projects, 2 missions, quizzes and the cheat sheet.
