Calculate the Exit Velocity and Launch Angle The location button finds the diamond map with ease. After pinning the home plate location you're ready for the first hit! The exit velocity error for softball usage is less than 1 mph for a 12” circumference softball and less than 0.5 mph for an 11” ball. Accuracy While the data model is accurate within ±2 mph and ±2 degrees in over 80% of the time, some conditions such as wind or ball spin may cause deviations beyond these limits. Timing error of 0.2 s translates to about 3 mph and 3 degrees of error and ball drop location error of 10 ft translates to about 3 mph and 1 degrees of error on a typical 200 ft hit.
