Über den Gitarrenbauer Antonio Raya Pardo, geboren 1950 in Huelma in der Provinz Jaén, gilt als einer der prägenden Vertreter der Granada-Schule des Gitarrenbaus. Mit vierzehn Jahren zog er nach Granada, wo er später in Verbindung mit der Familie Ferrer kam, einer bedeutenden Linie innerhalb der lokalen Gitarrenbautradition. Diese Nähe beeinflusste seine Entscheidung, selbst den Beruf des Gitarrenbauers zu ergreifen. 1972 trat er in die Werkstatt von José López Bellido ein. Auch wenn seine Lehrzeit dort nur kurz war, markierte sie den Beginn seiner konsequenten Hinwendung zur Tradition des guitarrero. Ab 1973 arbeitete er selbstständig und entwickelte innerhalb der Ästhetik Granadas eine eigene klangliche Handschrift. Durch das Studium historischer Instrumente und zahlreiche Auslandsreisen schärfte er eine Haltung, die auf Präzision, Zurückhaltung und klangliche Authentizität ausgerichtet ist. Über die Gitarre Dieses traditionell gebaute Instrument aus dem Jahr 2001 mit Fichtendecke sowie Boden und Zargen aus Pardo-Palisander steht in der klaren Linie der Granada-Schule. Der Klang ist hell und unmittelbar, mit deutlich spanischem Charakter. Die Ansprache erfolgt schnell und präzise, wodurch ein fokussiertes und direktes Klangbild entsteht. Die Höhen sind klar und tragfähig, mit Brillanz ohne Härte. Die Bässe bleiben definiert und stützend und sorgen für eine transparente Gesamtbalance. Auch in schnellen Passagen behält das Instrument seine Artikulationsschärfe und Projektion. Die klangliche Anlage begünstigt Linienklarheit und rhythmische Präzision.
