A weather and NOTAM briefing app for pilots, built by a pilot. SmartBriefing makes pre-flight faster, clearer, and easier than ever. Open all your flight’s airports in one step and focus only on what matters - relevant airports, time periods, TAF sections, runways in use, and NOTAMs. Weather and winds are visualized on a timeline for instant understanding. Get a faster briefing with better data - free 30-day trial included. Dive deeper into any airport: explore weather, wind, and daylight forecasts, assess runway winds at a glance, and read NOTAMs ranked by operational impact with the critical wording highlighted. Try it today and discover how effortless a pilot’s weather briefing can be. Main Features: * Manual flight creation with history (SmartBriefing remembers even takeoff and enroute alternates). * Flight imports from PDFs (including ForeFlight), clipboard, camera, or ATC data on the internet (via flight number or aircraft tail number). * Manual or automatic insertion of enroute alternates. A relevant time window for each enroute alternate is calculated based on the distance from the route and other enroute alternates. * Compact view showing only relevant time windows (a quick scroll provides instant understanding of the weather situation for the whole flight). * Airport search with filtering by country or runway length. * Groups of airports can be easily filled with airports from any selected country. They can also be imported from Aeroweather. * Quick airport search tab with search history. * Visual guides explaining how to use certain features. * In-app notifications. * Settings to customize the preferred weather color scheme, units, airport filters, app appearance, etc. Features for Every Airport: Weather * Timeline separately depicts permanent, TEMPO, or PROB phenomena, along with sunrise and sunset. * METAR and TAF are available in original format, colored format (original text colored according to weather minima), or decoded format (including decoded remarks or runway state messages). * D-ATIS for major U.S. airports and selected European airports, with a compact view showing the runways and approaches in use. Premium subscription is needed for features below after the first 30 days: METAR history * Previous observations expandable under the current METAR - the trend at a glance. Wind * Timeline displays wind forecasts from TAF. * Animated wind over airport layout provides quick awareness of the overall wind situation. * Each runway is depicted separately from a pilot’s perspective, including its dimensions and wind components. * Evaluation of (user-defined) wind limits for every runway with suggestions on usable/unusable runways. NOTAMs * Smart NOTAMs: every NOTAM is categorised by what it affects (runway, approach, taxiway, airspace, ...) and ranked by operational impact - the ones that matter most are always at the top. * The critical wording is highlighted in the NOTAM text, and activity schedules are extracted and shown first. * Overview list first; tap any NOTAM for the full text and swipe through the rest. * NOTAMs effective at your relevant time are automatically highlighted and separated. * Important NOTAMs can be bookmarked; new, unread NOTAMs are always first. * Any NOTAM can be displayed on the map with a single tap. * Built on our own worldwide NOTAM database. Details * Timeline shows local time along with night, dawn, day, and dusk periods. * Local time and UTC offset. * Precise sunrise and sunset times. * Airport layout and detailed runway information. * Option to add personal notes to airports. * Links to external apps such as maps or web sources with airport information.
