Lovyza is a dating app built for Kenya. Match with people near you, talk to them properly before you meet, and find events you would actually want to go to. For adults only. You must be 18 or over. MEET PEOPLE NEARBY Swipe through people close to you and match when you both like each other. Filter by what you are looking for — something serious, something casual, or new friends — and by age, distance and verified profiles only. Every profile is a real person with a phone number. One account per number, no exceptions. YOUR LOCATION STAYS VAGUE, ON PURPOSE This is the part most apps get wrong, so we did it differently. Your position is rounded to a wide area before it is ever stored — we never keep an exact fix, not in our database and not in a backup. Other people see a distance band, like "3 km away", with no direction. Location is only read while the app is open, never in the background. TALK, THEN CALL, THEN MEET Chat with text, photos and voice notes once you match. When you are ready, make a video or voice call inside the app — the fastest way to know a profile is real before you agree to meet anyone. Nothing on a call is recorded or stored by us. Not the video, not the audio. EVENTS WORTH GOING TO Nightlife, live music, sports, food, outdoors, arts, networking, faith and wellness — real events near you, with real dates and venues. RSVP, buy a ticket, and get in with a QR code at the door. It is a better first date than coffee, and a reason to open the app when nothing new has happened in your matches. SAFETY IS BUILT IN, NOT BOLTED ON Every photo is checked before anybody else can see it — for nudity, and against pictures already on Lovyza, to catch profiles built from someone else's photos. Get verified by taking a live selfie in a pose we choose at that moment. A person on our team compares it with your profile. We do not use face recognition, and your selfie is deleted as soon as the decision is made. Report a profile, a message, a photo, an event or a call. Blocking is instant and works both ways — you disappear from each other completely. A person reads every report, and you are told the outcome. FREE, PLUS AND GOLD Lovyza is free to use, with a daily like allowance you can see from your first swipe. Plus adds a much larger allowance, rewind, super-likes and the intent and verified-only filters. Gold adds seeing who liked you, browsing who is out right now, read receipts and a monthly boost. Pay by M-Pesa, Airtel Money or card. Nothing renews on its own — when a month ends you go back to free, and we never take money without you starting the payment yourself. Launching in Nairobi.
