Artek Model 81C dining table or desk designed by Alvar Aalto. Designed in the 1950s and manufactured in Finland. This dining table is one of Alvar Aalto's famous designs. It's simple and timeless. Made from solid birch wood with a beige linoleum table top. The table is in great vintage condition with only one small mark on the table top, which can be seen in the pictures.    Alvar Aalto, together with carpenter Otto Korhonen, began experimenting with bending solid wood in the late 1920s. The collaboration resulted in an L-leg, which was an invention that took a step towards the mass production of Aalto’s furniture. Alvar Aalto patented the L-leg bending technique in 1933.
