Blackout is a full professional lighting console that runs on iPad: the capability of a full-size desk, reworked to be faster to learn and quicker to run, with nothing left behind. Designed by a working lighting programmer and built by senior software engineers. The opinions are baked in: the sidebar follows you, the tabs never move, and the QuickHUD keeps five actions under one finger, so there is nothing to configure and nothing to script. PATCH • Over 40,000 human-verified fixture profiles, and a Request a Profile button with a human on the other end of the line. • Patch by the hundred: batch address, label and sort. • Import a patch from any console: Eos and ChamSys CSV, grandMA2, Hog 4 and ONYX XML, MVR from grandMA3 and Capture. • Build your own fixtures from templates. PROGRAMMING • A dynamic command line: keywords that select, set, record and play back faster than any amount of dragging, on a keypad that only offers what comes next. • Fixture controls in the model the fixture thinks in: HSV, RGB, CMY or CIE xy. • Groups, Favorites, Looks, Sequences, Effects and Macros: every building block of lighting control, reworked to be faster. Favorites are referenced, so one change updates every look. • Looks are your cues: decimal-point numbering, split intensity fades, per-category fade and delay, follows and links, with effects recorded in the look. • A smarter Update: write changes into the current look, the next, the previous, or every look before or after it. • The Tracking Sheet lays a whole sequence out as a grid and edits a range of looks at once, staged with a live diff and preview. • Ten faders a page, unlimited pages, four buttons and priority on every one. • Encoders: a board of dials you build once and keep, for pan, tilt, zoom, color, anything your patch exposes. • A phase-effect engine with keyframes, bezier easing, tap tempo and 21 position shapes. • Park, Freeze, DMX Tester, deep undo/redo.
