Developed by CERT.LV in partnership with NIC, the DNS Firewall app is a powerful, free solution designed to safeguard individuals and organizations from a variety of cyber threats. By leveraging advanced DNS filtering technology, DNS Firewall protects users from access to harmful websites, ensuring a secure and seamless browsing experience. CERT.LV promptly adds fraudulent links reported by residents and identified by CERT.LV into the DNS Firewall every day. Key Features: • Comprehensive Protection: Actively prevents access to dangerous websites known for phishing, malware, and fraud, helping to keep your devices safe from potential security risks. • Real-Time Alerts: Receive instant notifications whenever an unsafe site is identified, keeping you informed and in control of your online safety. • Data Encryption: Uses the VpnService to encrypt your DNS requests, ensuring that your data remains secure as it travels through the internet. • Prevent you from receiving fraudulent phone calls identified by CERT.LV. (For your information: The scam call blocking feature is available only starting from Android 10.0 and later versions, as this feature requires more advanced technical capabilities that are not available in older operating systems.) How It Works DNS Firewall uses the VpnService API to securely route DNS requests, identifying and protecting against harmful domains. The app processes only DNS requests, ensuring that no other network traffic is tunneled or affected. This setup enhances security without impacting other internet data. Commitment to Privacy At CERT.LV, we take your privacy seriously. Our app does not collect unnecessary data, and any information gathered is used solely for enhancing the application’s functionality.
