This was unsurprising due to its base being that of the Ford F-Series Super Duty Platform. Around 200,000 Ford Excursions were made during this time and were available in various seating configurations with various engines including a 5.4-liter Triton V8, a 6.8-liter V10, and a 7.3-liter V8 Diesel. The Excursion was designed to appeal to not only families but to commercial end users. THE CAR OFFERED This 2001 Ford Excursion XLT was specified when new with the desirable 6.8-liter Trion V10 engine and finished in Silver Clearcoat Metallic over Graphite Leather. While a standard Excursion came from the factory with an overall length of 226.7" long – this particular example has been stretched by and additional foot for an overall length of nearly 20 feet. The extra space provides for a partition with a rear facing row of seats and the original second row captains chairs moved to back to the location of the old third row for ample legroom for all parties in the rear quarters. Additionally, the rear passengers enjoy their own stereo system, storage cabinets, decanters, rear sunroof, and more. According to the CARFAX report, the Excursion was delivered new to Chicagoland and has spent the entirety of the past quarter century there. Currently showing 75,410 miles, it must be noted that in October 2021 a mechanic servicing the car reported a mileage of 75,606 while a mileage of 75,345 was subsequently reported September of 2022.
