世界女子網球協會（Women’s Tennis Association，WTA）決定停辦中國賽事，對此國際特赦組織中國研究員盧利安表示：   「中國對彭帥提出的指控和相關網路討論做出審查，國際特赦組織與世界女子網球協會同樣非常擔憂。中國政府向來會將提出性暴力指控的女性噤聲。」 「由於中國對網球選手彭帥的人身自由、身心狀況與人身安全均未充分回應，世界女子網球協會因此暫停在中國的所有賽事。這表示世界女子網球協會認真看待應做到的調查義務，這項舉動也同時受到國際知名的網球選手們支持。這向中國傳達了明確訊息：中國當局企圖掩蓋這些指控，但人們絕對不會坐視不管。」   「國際社會應持續呼籲中國政府立即有效調查所有性暴力相關指控，同時要求中國政府確保倖存者能夠自由地表達意見，不用擔心自己面臨不利後果。」
