Accountability for Migrant Deaths Act On July 7, 2019, Congresswoman Trahan introduced the Accountability for Migrant Deaths Act, which requires that Congress be notified within 24 hours of a migrant dying while in US custody and mandates a congressional hearing – at which an appropriate Administration official would testify – within a week of such notification.
