In this 7 week course you will learn the fundamentals of both handbuilding and wheel throwing including pinch potting, coil building, slab building, wheel throwing, turning, and glazing. Suitable for beginners and those with some experience. PRICING At Neighbourhood, we use a solidarity pricing system in order to promote equity and diversity and increase access to pottery as a craft. At checkout, you will have the choice of 3 prices for this course. Please choose either 'Low Income' for £180, 'Standard' for £200, or 'Pay it Forward' for £220 based on your personal circumstances. The 'Pay it Forward' price helps us subsidise the low income spaces. SCHEDULE Week 1: Pinch potting + Coil Building Week 2: Slab building Week 3: Wheel throwing Week 4: Wheel throwing Week 5: Turning Week 6: Glazing Week 7: Glazing FINISHED WORK Students will be able to glaze and fire work throughout the course. 2.5 kilos of fired work is included in the price of the course and any work fired beyond this will be charged at a rate of £6 per kilo. Pieces will be ready for collection after their final firing a few weeks after the course ends. WHAT TO WEAR Clay and glaze both rinse out of clothes very easily, but wear something you don't mind getting a bit messy in. Also, please bring an apron if you have one. If not, we have spare ones you can use. NOTE: Participants must be 16 or over.
