The Voigtlander 28mm F1.5 NOKTON Aspherical is a large aperture manual focus wide angel lens optimized for full frame Nikon Z camera sensors and is equipped with electronic contacts enabling correction of vignetting, lateral chromatic aberration, and distortion. The lens is equipped with electronic contacts which communicate data with the camera body. In addition to Exif information and in body image stabilization (3 axes), by combining with camera body features and the latest firmware, the lens has three types of focusing support functions: (1) focusing by colour changing of the focus point frame, (2) focus peaking function , and (3) focusing with the enlargement button. The optical design of ten elements in eight groups provides both compact overall length and high performance despite the large aperture of F1.5. The aspherical lens provides excellent resolution wide open at F1.5. The minimum focusing distance is 0.28 m. The metal focus ring has a diamond pattern for excellent grip. It is stable even when attaching commercially available focusing gears to allow follow focus when shooting video. The high precision metal helical provides silky smooth focusing. The aperture is controlled by the lens aperture ring, not by a camera’s command dial. The aperture ring can also be set to clickless operation. The effect of the large F1.5 aperture and slightly longer focal length makes it ideal for “large background blurring” photography, as well as for rendering out of focus areas of point light sources in a well rounded manner. The aperture iris is nearly circular with 12 aperture blades. A metal screw in lens hood is included.
