The beautiful wooden architecture covered in red-orangish color is highly photogenic and the unique atmosphere gives you the sense of the good old days in Japan. But that’s not all. It has history and many stories behind to it. Did you know that red-orangish color often used in both temples and shrines has a reason as well? There are many theories behind to why red-orangish color was often used at temples and shrines, but one of the theories is that in ancient Japan, people believed that the color acts as blockage or obstruction to magical powers and evil spirits. Therefore, despite the different religion, the same red-orangish color was frequently used. These stories cannot be seen with your eyes only. City walking and sightseeing is enjoyable itself, but getting to know the places you visit in a foreign country is quite a challenge without a tour guide.
