Slate turns your iPad into a wireless second monitor for Windows.
On iPhone, keep one Windows app window in view while you work on your PC.
Use a true extended display over the same local network, even when your PC uses Ethernet.
Wi-Fi when you want it. USB-C when you need it.
Try it free for 15 minutes every time you connect, then subscribe for uninterrupted use.
[ Why Slate ]
- Keep one app window in view
Open Show on device in the Windows tray, then select an application window.
Zoom and pan locally on iPhone or iPad. Window viewing is read-only.
A clear status appears when the window is minimized or closed.
Requires the latest Slate for Windows.
- Wireless on the same local network
Your PC can use Ethernet. Compare the six-digit codes and approve on both
devices the first time you connect.
- USB-C when you need it
Use a USB data cable when the local network is crowded or unavailable.
- Supports Windows 10 1903+ or Windows 11 x64
Works on supported desktops and laptops. No portable monitor required.
- 1080p / 60fps / touch input
Hardware-accelerated H.264 encoding sends the display, and a tap on iPad
clicks the corresponding item in Windows.
- Zero added weight
Skip the 500-800g portable monitor. Your iPad is already in the bag.
[ How it works ]
1. Install the free Slate companion on your Windows PC
2. Open Slate on your iPhone or iPad
3. Connect both devices to the same router and allow Local Network access for Slate
4. Compare the six-digit codes and approve on both devices
For USB, connect a data cable, unlock your device, and accept the trust prompt.
5. Choose an extended display or an app window under Show on device in the Windows tray
[ Made for the road ]
- Business travel - extra screen at hotels, cafes, client offices
- Working from home - video calls or references on iPad, main work on PC
- Students - slides on one screen, notes on the other
[ Subscription ]
- Every connection includes a free 15-minute session (no payment details needed)
- Monthly and yearly auto-renewable plans are available
- See the subscription screen for the current price and billing period in your App Store region
- Windows companion app is free
- Cancel anytime: iOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions
- Auto-renewal: renews 24 hours before expiration at the same price
[ Limitations ]
- Network connections require the same local network; remote access over the internet is not supported
- Update Slate on both devices. USB requires a USB-C iPhone or iPad and a data cable
- Requires a Windows 10 1903+ or Windows 11 x64 host PC (macOS / Linux not supported)
- Single virtual display - no multi-display output
- Window viewing is read-only. Remote touch input is available in extended-display mode
- Apple Pencil pressure/tilt and Windows multi-touch gestures not supported
