One night the Sleeper smelled the smoke and closed her eyes forever. Since then, no one sleeps. You are one of the Sleepless: you cannot die, for to die is to sleep. Rise. DELIBERATE COMBAT • Every swing, roll and block costs stamina. Dodge at the right moment, parry with your shield and riposte. • Readable attacks: every enemy blow is announced by a flash and a sound just before it lands. Read it and you can avoid it. • Light and heavy attacks, parries, ripostes, backstabs, and light or heavy rolls depending on your equipment load. • The dead learn: enemies remember your habits and change how they fight. LINEAGE, ORIGIN AND WEAPON • Mix 5 lineages with 6 origins. Each lineage grants an edge at a price: a longer parry for less health, no burning for weaker healing... • Choose a male or female body and give your Sleepless a name. • 21 weapons, 8 shields and 9 amulets to combine: a barbarian with a dagger, an outcast with a staff. Your Sleepless, your rules. BOSSES WITH A STORY • Eleven bosses, each with an introduction, a voice and a second phase: the Barrow King awaiting a relief that never came, the Mourner who wept for every candle, the Soot-Winged who cannot let go of his torch... • The first awaits you in the Graveyard: the Precipitate of the Retort, who crawled out of the Alchemist's laboratory and is no longer him. AN INTERCONNECTED WORLD • Nine areas linked by shortcuts, hidden stairways and bonfires: graveyard, ossuary, belfry, flooded cistern, candle kiln, crypts and more. • Puzzles with visible rules, traps, Shade invasions and characters whose fate you decide. • Three endings and new cycles to start again stronger. THE ASH • When you die, your Ash stays where you fell. Return for it before you fall again. • Level up at bonfires, forge weapons, wear amulets that give and take, and strengthen your Ash Vessel to heal more often.
