Dektor is the essential app for metal detectorists in Romania. It maps every registered archaeological site, helping you detect responsibly and stay within the law. KNOW WHERE THE SITES ARE Explore thousands of archaeological sites from the National Archaeological Repertory (RAN - https://ran.cimec.ro), with boundaries, terrain types and detailed descriptions. Proximity alerts notify you when approaching a protected area. TRACK YOUR SESSIONS Start a detecting session and let Dektor record your route, distance and duration via GPS — even in the background. Review past sessions, edit tracks and keep a complete history. LOG YOUR FINDS Photograph your discoveries, pin them on the map and add notes. Keep them private or share with the community. Everything organized in one place. AI IDENTIFICATION Not sure what you dug up? Take a photo and let AI analyze it. Get a description of the object, approximate period, material and condition — in seconds. OVERLAY MAPS AND DATA LAYERS Go beyond the standard map. Add overlay maps for extra context and toggle data layers: rivers, roads, forests, contour lines, administrative boundaries and historical landmarks. MEASURING TOOL Measure distances and areas directly on the map. Plan your detecting routes or estimate land areas. COMMUNITY SUGGESTIONS Help improve the map. Suggest terrain type corrections or updated site locations and contribute to a more accurate database.
