Childhood cancers are rare, and make up less than 1% of all cancers diagnosed each year1. It is even rarer for a child to require a stem cell transplant for cancer. In the US, the probability of a child having a stem cell transplant over the years from birth to age 20 is only 3 in 5000 or 0.06%2. This probability includes all 80+ of the diseases treated with cord blood. Children that have a solid tumor have been treated with their own cord blood. This includes diagnoses such as neuroblastoma, medulloblastoma, and retinoblastoma.

一、徵件背景 安寧照顧基金會為鼓勵合約機構專任人員，投入末期病患及家屬的安寧照護工作，自2022年起提供合約機構專任人員倡議、教育及研究經費補助，除提升專業人員能力及技能外，並將學術研發的成果落實於未來人才的培育，因此透過經費挹注方式導引合約機構專任人員系統地研發有助提升末期病患及家屬照顧方式及作法。 本計畫徵求重點在鼓勵合約機構專任人員從臨床經驗或照顧場域中的問題與挑戰出發，輔以相關文獻探討及觀察提出適用於解決照護實務問題之方法，例如倡議課程設計、教育教法、引入教具、或科技媒體運用等方式，並採取適當的研究方法與評量工具檢證成效。
