Le village de Givry a donné son nom à l'une des 5 appellations de la Côte Chalonnaise. Déjà reconnu au Moyen-âge et apprécié d'Henri IV, ce n'est qu'en 1946 que Givry fut élevé au rang d'Appellation d'Origine Controlée en reconnaissance de la qualité constante de ses vins. Les vins rouges représentent 80% de l'appellation. Ils sont fruités, bien structurés et fins. Chaleureux, vifs et généreux, ils sont aussi souvent comparés au Volnay.
