10月22日的Tonight Above You: Sky Map应用程序分析

Point your phone at the night sky and it names every star, planet and constellation you see, and finds tonight's best sight for you: a planet, the Space Station, the odds of a shooting star, with the source behind every number. Keep tonight's sky as a story poster, with its name and one true fact, and send it to a friend who looks up at the same moment. Keep the sky of the night you were born. Walk inside the Milky Way; fall into a black hole. No account, no ads, no tracking. The sky is worked out on your phone. TONIGHT, ABOVE YOU • The one thing most worth seeing in your sky tonight, chosen for your place and your sky, with when and where to look • The Moon and planets from real spacecraft maps — NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, Viking, Cassini — turned and lit exactly as they are tonight, Saturn's rings at their true tilt • All 8,400 stars the naked eye can see, and the real Milky Way, exactly where they are right now • Make a wish: your honest chance of a shooting star in the next 15 minutes, hour by hour POINT YOUR PHONE UP • Hold your phone to the sky and follow the gold thread; with Sky sounds on, pings quicken as you get close • Find it, and see how many of its photons just landed in your eye • Pinch to zoom in, up to 16× (8× over the camera): the Moon shows its real face, the planets appear as a telescope shows them • Tap any light — planet, star, galaxy — and learn what it is, and which constellation it is in • Keep the moment as a story poster: the sky, its name, one fact and your name (or not), ready to share • The invisible layer: Voyager 1, the Hubble Deep Field, the black hole at the heart of our galaxy • By day, a real photograph of a clear sky with the Sun where it really is — and the stars still there • Red night vision, and the sky described aloud JOURNEYS • Walk inside the Milky Way: ESO's 360° photograph of our whole galaxy around you, to the real sounds of space • Fall into a black hole: watch gravity bend the Milky Way's light, worked out from Einstein's equations, and see how slowly your clock would tick • Through the great telescopes: eight pictures from James Webb, eight from Hubble, three from the Netherlands' LOFAR, and the Dwingeloo radio telescope under the stars, to open full screen and zoom into • Real photographs from Hubble, ESO, NOIRLab and the Event Horizon Telescope LIVE • Sky alerts for the Space Station, aurora, meteor showers and the Blaze Star (T Coronae Borealis), checked whenever the app can • The planes you can really see overhead, where they are flying, and a flight to follow across the sky • Who Earth is talking to right now, from NASA's Deep Space Network, and the Sun as it looked minutes ago • Space Station passes, a dark-sky finder, meteor showers, planets and eclipses to 2030 YOURS • Send tonight's sky to someone far away: they get the picture, where to look from their own town, and a page that works without the app • Keep the nights that matter — the night you were born, a wedding, a goodbye — with the whole sky above them • Send a message toward Andromeda and follow it past the stars • Look up at the same moment as someone far away • Count meteors and send your count to the International Meteor Organization • Your year in light EVERY NUMBER SHOWS ITS SOURCE Every line carries a small mark that says whether it is measured, computed, estimated or debated, and its source. Tap "How we know" to see the source, and how sure we are. HONEST AND PRIVATE The sky is worked out on your phone. No account, no ads, no tracking.
