Hand blown glass bowl.  This large work was created over 4 weeks using a variety of techniques.  2 separate colors of cane were pulled, then picked up on a roll up to create alternating lines of blue and white lines, which were later zig zagged in alternating spirals forming a complex pattern called wigwag. This ‘super cup’ was then attached at the lip (Incalmo) to yet another glass piece with solid white interior and gorgeous pink on top. ~ 7.5” x 9”

Lisa Schnellinger is a metro Atlanta artist specializing in mixed media sculptures. She works extensively with glass. Her previous medium was photography, part of a 25-year career in international journalism. Using textures, landforms, and abstract figures, Lisa offers viewers a place to explore the feelings and meanings evoked by her visual suggestions. She also draws from her own story of recovery from a brain aneurysm in ways that speak to others with hidden trauma. Her art has been exhibited at juried shows in Atlanta and elsewhere in Georgia since 2007. She earned a master's degree from the School of Art and Design at Kennesaw State University, following post-baccalaureate sculpture studies at Georgia State University.
