Gareth Heywood is a senior technology and product-marketing manager at Semtech, where he is responsible for the development of video products and technologies for the broadcast and Pro AV markets. Gareth is an expert in audio, video and broadcast technologies and standards, having been a representative on a number of standards organizations, including SMPTE, VESA and the CTA. Prior to his 20 years at Gennum/Semtech, Gareth worked at Dolby Laboratories and Sony Broadcast & Professional in the UK. He holds a Bachelors of Engineering in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Bradford, UK, is a long standing SMPTE member, and holds several video interface patents.
