WINEMAKING  Harvested in the cool of the evening to retain varietal freshness. Gently pressed, settled overnight before racking to French oak barrels with some solids for textural integration into the wine throughout fermentaiton, maturation and lees stirring. This Chardonnay showcases complexity and elegant oak influence while still allowing the fresh varietal characters to shine through.  VINTAGE NOTES  A wet Winter and Spring laid down great water reserves going into vintage 2022. A cool & wet Spring meant a slow start, with flowering and veraison tracking behind previous years, but the weather soon warmed up and ripening charged

This Chardonnay has spent 10 months in French oak of which 40% is new. We use an array barrel sizes; Puncheons, Hogsheads and barriques. Each oak vessel contributing different layers and interest.  A lifted perfume of zesty lemon, stone fruit & cashew nut. A fleshy, bright chardonnay with plenty pf power and length, with hints of white peach, citrus and custard tart.
