Both Booking Holdings and Expedia are focused on improving brand strength, and Booking Holdings in particular has publicly disclosed that it is investing significantly in its brand:

  • Since July 2017 the monthly number of downloads of Booking Holdings’ apps has been consistently higher than the number for Expedia’s apps
  • Android app downloads of Booking.com’s app represented 79.9% of all of Booking Holdings apps in July 2019
  • Android app download’s of Expedia’s subsidiaries is more fragmented than Booking Holdings
