This app can help you learn and practice the vocabulary and grammar you'll need to read and write Nubian (Specifically Nobiin)! Start with lesson 1 if you are not familiar with the alphabet. After that, you can use full course mode and our unique algorithm will make sure you practice each word in various modalities and example sentences through lesson 20. You can also look at the vocabulary and phrase lists for each lesson and quiz yourself on those specifically. There is a tracing function to help you practice writing. Nobiin is one of the about eleven Nubian languages. It is one of the two Nubian langauges spoken in Egypt. In Egypt, it is sometimes called Fadijja or Fedicca after the group that speaks it there. Sudanese varieties are sometimes called Mahasi and Halfawi. Nobiin is the largest modern Nubian languages at ~545,000 speakers, the second largest being Kenzi-Dongolawi (AKA Matokki in Egypt and Andaandi in Sudan).
