We got a chance to try out the new Saved By The Bell themed pop-up dinner last night which is modeled after The Max hangout where Zack, Slater, Kelly, Jessie, Lisa and Screech spent much of their time away from Bayside High. As a child of the 80s/90s the show was a ubiquitous part of Saturday Morning and after-school zone-out sessions it was particularly making our evening all the more exciting. Also THE Max (i.e Ed Alozo the actor who played him) was on the premise doing magic tricks and generally being a super sweet master of ceremonies. Creator Derek Berry collaborated with the original Saved By The Bell set designers and it shows. Prepare to be transported back to the 90's inside your television! With a menu designed by Brian Fisher the former chef at Michelin-Starred Schwa, the food was a MAJOR cut above what the kids were eating on the show. We had the Bayside Burger (DUH), AC Sliders, Tori's Fried Chicken and Max's Magical Sweet Tooth for dessert. Love the replica menu from the show! The desserts were AMAZING. The Snack Attack featured twinkie flavored ice cream. YUM. Laine Berry looks ADORABLE here in her Max T-shirt and fly Saved By the Bell themed nails. Another sweet touch is the locker area up front, with Kelly's lunch nestled amidst all the bayside memorabilia. You can also eat inside Mr. Belding's office. This was without-a-doubt the most fun I've ever had from a dining experience. I strongly suggest you try and wrangle tickets or take advantage of their brunch and Bayside After Dark late night availability. The restaurant is located at 1941 W. North Avenue.
