Depuis le pionnier Jean Painlevé, pour qui le premier appareil photo insubmersible a été mis au point dans les années 1930, jusqu’aux photos de baleine prises au drone par l’Américaine Joanna Steidle, en passant par les nus aquatiques de Henri Cartier-Bresson, les plages estivales de Robert Doisneau et Massimo Vitali, le témoignage d’Anita Conti, seule femme à avoir embarqué avec les pêcheurs de morue jusqu’au confins de Terre-Neuve, les vagues poétiques de Vincent Munier ou encore les cétacés saisis par Sebastião Salgado : la mer a inspiré les plus grands photographes, qui ont tous ont choisi de soutenir Reporters sans frontières. Avec les contributions de Laurent Ballesta, Catherine Chabaud, Line le Gall, Claire Nouvian et un avant-propos de Baptiste Morizot.
