The stainless steel and cast-aluminum design ensures that it won’t rust or stain your chimney. The Seal Tight Damper doesn’t require a chimney fire safety device, cutting costs and saving time! Designed with a two part, high-tech gasket system, this damper provides an extremely effective air tight seal by utilizing a liquid gasket, which hardens to form an efficient seal. The primary gasket sits in a channel inside the damper frame, while the secondary, liquid gasket, sits underneath the front portion of the damper lid. These two gaskets provide the most efficient seal possible!  The Seal Tight Damper is made for use only with open, wood burning, masonry fireplace chimneys and is not suitable for use on chimneys serving vented gas logs. Vented gas logs require the fireplace damper to be removed completely or fixed to a permanently open position; this is to assure that soot, fumes, and carbon monoxide do not enter your home.
