All of this is created through a volunteer and gifting culture. The main annual AfrikaBurn event takes place in the Tankwa Karoo, located between the Northern Cape and Western Cape Provinces of South Africa, usually at the end of April every year.  AfrikaBurn’s aim is to be radically inclusive and accessible to anyone. The touchstone of value in our culture will always be immediacy: experience before theory, moral relationships before politics, survival before services, roles before jobs, ritual before symbolism, work before vested interest, participant support before sponsorship. In Via dei Coronari, dentro Palazzo Del Drago, c’è un cortile segreto, circondato da alte case, che preserva un angolo di verde rigoglioso all’interno della città storica. La posizione e l’ombreggiatura hanno favorito la crescita di uno splendido giardino. Di grande impatto è la copertura delle facciate ad opera di maestosi esemplari di vite americana. L’ambiente accoglie la nidificazione e il passaggio di merli, pettirossi e piccoli rapaci. Dentro questo cortile, inglobato in una torre del vecchio tessuto, si trova un piccolissimo studio, composto di due ambienti minimi collegati da una stretta scala. Lo spazio è condiviso dall’arch.Emiliano Auriemma, che oltre all’attività professionale e all’insegnamento universitario, svolge qui la sua attività artistica utilizzando spesso lo spazio aperto, e dall’arch.Antonella Adduci che qui svolge attività professionale.
