On August 10th, the 12th Graduation Ceremony of Cavendish University Uganda took place at Speke Resort Munyonyo. A total of 711 students were honoured with Certificates, Diplomas, and Degrees, officially becoming part of the Alumni Network. The event revolved around the theme of “Strengthening Academia-Industry collaboration as a strategy to improve graduate employability and entrepreneurship,” and was presided over by the Chancellor, H.E. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, with Hon. Monica Musenero, the Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, gracing the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Additionally, Mr. John Bosco Kalisa, the CEO of the East African Business Council, delivered an inspiring Commencement Speech. During his address, Chancellor Goodluck Jonathan emphasized that opportunities do not solely favour individuals with the necessary skills and competences, but also those with integrity and character. The Guest of Honour, Hon. Dr. Monica Musenero, in her remarks, advised the graduates not to lose themselves in the challenges of life and encouraged them to define their purpose. She highlighted that even lazy people appreciate hardworking individuals, and those with integrity are respected by the corrupt.
