Learn to code with W3Schools. The official app from the team behind w3schools.com. Lessons in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python and Java, turned into a game you can play for a few minutes a day. What you can learn - HTML: elements, attributes, links, images, forms and tables, so you can structure a web page from scratch - CSS: selectors, colours, the box model, flexbox and responsive layout - JavaScript: variables, operators, conditions, loops, functions, arrays and objects - Python: the friendliest first programming language: strings, lists, dictionaries, loops and functions - Java: syntax, data types, classes and objects, and how typed code thinks More languages are on the way. How it works Every topic is broken into bite-size lessons you can finish on a bus ride. You read a little, then you actually do something with it: multiple-choice questions, spot-the-error challenges, fill-in-the-blank code, and hands-on practice that checks your answer and explains what went wrong. No long videos, no setup, and no installing a code editor before you have written a single line. Learning that doesn't feel like homework - Follow an adventure map through the coding fundamentals - Earn XP and climb the leaderboard - Build a daily streak and keep it alive - Take on weekly quests for extra rewards - Unlock skins for your Lynx and make your avatar your own Progress is saved as you go, so you can pick up exactly where you stopped. Who it is for Complete beginners who have never written code and want a gentle place to start. Students revising HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python or Java for a course or an exam. Self-taught developers filling in the gaps. Anyone coming back to programming after a few years away and wanting a quick refresher on the fundamentals. Career switchers who want to find out whether coding is for them before committing to a bootcamp. If you have ever bookmarked a W3Schools tutorial and meant to come back to it, this is the app version of that intention. With streaks to make sure you actually do. Common questions Do I need any experience? No. The first lessons assume you have never seen code before. Can I really learn to code on my phone? For the fundamentals, yes. This app is built for practice and repetition - the part most people skip. When you are ready to build real projects you will move to a computer, and you will know what you are doing when you get there. How long does a lesson take? Two or three minutes. The streak is designed around doing a little every day rather than one long session a month. Is it a good coding app for students? Yes. It follows the same tutorial structure teachers have been pointing students at for years. From the team behind w3schools.com W3Schools has been teaching web development and programming online since 1999. This is our official app, published by W3Schools Network AS. The tutorials you already know, rebuilt for your phone as something you can play. Beware of copycat apps using the W3Schools name and logo.
