Lahore, May 23, 2023 – We at the Abdullah Foundation are pleased to announce our unwavering dedication to sponsoring financial aid scholars at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). This is in continuation of the generous contributions we have been making towards financial assistance for more than a decade. An MoU signing ceremony was held on May 23, 2023, where Dr. Arshad Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, LUMS, and Mian Mohammad Abdullah, Chairman, Sapphire Group, signed the agreement. The ceremony's discussions were not limited to financial aid but expanded to address the pressing matter of water conservation. An insightful dialogue ensued, focusing on the issue of water conservation and the proposed water quality lab at LUMS that will assist the industry with sustainable solutions. Leveraging precision equipment and robotics, an innovative collaboration with the LUMS Water Informatics and Technology Centre will also promote the application of smart agriculture techniques. Also present at the ceremony were Mr. Shahid Abdullah, CEO of Sapphire Fibers Limited; Mr. Amer Abdullah, CEO of Sapphire Dairies (Pvt.) Limited; Mr. Nadeem Abdullah, CEO of Sapphire Textile Mills Limited; Mr. Yousuf Abdullah, CEO of Sapphire Finishing Mills Ltd.; and Ms. Ayesha Abdullah, Director of the Abdullah Foundation. They were welcomed by the University's senior leadership, including Mr. Abdul Razak Dawood, Pro Chancellor; Mr. Shahid Hussain, Rector; and Dr. Sabieh Anwar, Ahmad Dawood Chair and Dean of the Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering at LUMS.
