Sophisticated RF Detection Separating the Protect 1206i apart from lesser handheld RF Detection equipment are it’s correlation and demodulation functions. The correlation function allows the operator to study the suspicious signals. When the 'CORR' button is pressed in close proximity to a hidden transmitter the unit produces probing 'beep' signals. The sound is picked up by the transmitting bug and then relayed back to the Protect 1206i. In that moment the Protect 1206i will produce a demodulated noise indicative of the type of transmission. Interpreting the demodulated noise (see manual) provides a broader understanding of the signal and can help distinguish the type of threat you are dealing with.
