Blocking an app should take one tap, not a tutorial. App Blocker keeps the apps that pull at you shut, using limits you choose rather than willpower you have to find. Pick the apps, pick how strict each one should be, and turn it on. That is the whole app. THREE WAYS TO LIMIT AN APP • Always blocked - it does not open, full stop. • Time limit - a daily budget of minutes. When it runs out, the app closes. • Open limit - a number of opens a day. Every one after that is stopped. Each app gets its own setting, so the one you cannot be trusted with can be shut completely while the others just get a ceiling. A TIME LIMIT THAT ACTUALLY ENDS Most limits are only checked when you open an app, which does nothing once you are already twenty minutes deep. App Blocker checks while you are in the app. When the budget runs out, the block screen appears right then, not the next time you open it. FOCUS TIMER Start a session and everything on your list stays shut until it ends. Turn on strict focus and a running timer cannot be cancelled, so the decision is made once, at the start, when you still mean it. SCHEDULES Give an app a start time, an end time and the days it applies - nine to five on weekdays, evenings, weekends, whatever the shape of your week is. Outside that window it opens normally. BREAKS YOU HAVE TO SPEND Decide in advance how many breaks you get in a day and how long each one lasts. Two breaks of five minutes, for instance. Take one from the block screen when you genuinely need it. When they are spent, they are spent. A BLOCK SCREEN THAT HELPS Instead of the app you get a full screen: which app it was, why it is shut, and how many times you have reached for it today. There is a short wait before you can dismiss it, a breathing circle while you wait if you want one, and your own note to yourself if you set one. SEE WHERE THE TIME GOES Time spent in limited apps over the last seven or thirty days, blocks, focus time, your streak, and the apps you reach for most. No lectures, just the numbers. BUILT TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY Nothing to sign up for and no onboarding to sit through - setup is picking your apps. Light or dark, following your system. Blocking is on or it is off and the switch says which, so the app is never quietly deciding things on your behalf. WHY IT NEEDS ACCESSIBILITY ACCESS Android only lets an app see which app is currently in the foreground through accessibility access, so App Blocker asks for it. It uses that for exactly one thing: reading the name of the app you have opened, so it can compare it against your list. That comparison happens on your phone. The app does not read the content of your screen and does not log what you do inside your apps. You can turn the permission off in Android Settings whenever you want, and App Blocker tells you plainly when it is off, because a blocker that cannot block should not pretend otherwise.
