's Nachts worden spelers een voor een gewekt door de Spelverteller om informatie te verzamelen, onrust te stoken, of te moorden.Blood on the Clocktower zorgt voor een unieke spelervaring, waarbij de Spelverteller het spel begeleidt met behulp van intrigerende speelstukken. Zelfs na hun 'dood' blijven spelers actief betrokken bij het spel, als spoken die proberen te winnen vanuit het hiernamaals.De dynamiek van het spel verandert voortdurend, dankzij de introductie van krachtige Reiziger-personages die op elk moment kunnen deelnemen.
