Instead of allowing the public to decide, they blocked two qualified candidates from consideration and selected five appointees behind closed doors. Mark Ascu Sr. (4,125 votes) and John Sitka (812 votes) were denied even an interview, despite earning thousands of votes in the last election. This is a betrayal of the voters’ trust.
