Morris's expert use of colour and historical patterns make this a true classic. It's reminiscent of many wallpaper patterns Morris also developed for his firm. The tapestry symbolises the growth and continuity of life. A man of many talents, William Morris (1834 - 1896) weaved his first tapestry in 1879, and went on to form a large tapestry works at Merton Abbey. This version of the tapestry shows a slightly different interpretation of the piece, and is set on a lush cream backdrop. ' A supreme quality Tapestry woven (not printed!) in Flanders, Belgium, using Jacquard Looms. Belgium has a long history of producing beautiful Tapestry art. Hundreds of meters of dyed cotton, wool, or metallic threads are used to tightly weave a tapestry. 86% Cotton, 8% Polyamide, 6% Polyester
