Te Araroa is New Zealand's national trail, and this is the app for walking it — whether you are thru-hiking the length of the country or out for a weekend section. Scrub forward to see the climb that is waiting for you, with huts and campsites drawn on the profile where they actually fall. EVERY HUT AND CAMPSITE DOC huts and campsites, private campsites, holiday parks, hostels and water sources, with bunk counts, facilities, photos and comments from other trampers. Fixes are flagged when they go stale, so you always know whether the app knows where you are. ABOUT THE DOWNLOAD SIZE The maps are large because the whole country is in them. That is the point. Once they are downloaded, nothing about navigation needs a connection. SAFETY This app is not a safety tool. It does not replace proper safety equipment, including notes, maps and a personal locator beacon, and it is not a substitute for preparing properly for Te Araroa.
