It blocks the greying process with a UV protection factor 12 in comparison to untreated wood when two coats are applied.We recommend a coloured base coat first such as the Osmo Natural Oil Woodstain or Osmo Country Colour.Preparation and Application of Osmo 420 UV Protection Oil ExtraFor best results we recommend that the wood surface is be clean, dry and frost-free (moisture content max. 20%). Osmo UV-Protection-Oil is ready to use, there is no need to thin, simply stir well with a flat stirring stick or a spatula. Clean any old stains off and remove any previous paint coatings before applying Osmo UV Protection Oil and if renovating an existing wood surface, we suggest that you degrey any already greyed areas with Osmo Wood Reviver Power Gel before applying.Where you are building something like a summer house, we suggest that where possible, you apply the first coat to all sides before building.
