Self-Propelled Dual Battery Mower in the latest Revision M44C configuration. The rear guard assembly is the pivoting deflector mounted at the rear of the mower's steel deck, which deflects grass clippings, dirt, mulched debris, and any small foreign objects downward and away from the operator during mowing operation. The rear guard is one of the mower's primary operator-protection components, required to be intact and correctly hinged for safe operation in all three of the mower's discharge modes: side discharge, bagging, and mulching.
