Who is a Good Fit for New York Swim Lessons? Anyone! But we suggest after 2 years old is a good time to begin. Children under 2 will just be in the water to get comfortable with the swim instructor and with the water. This is because at this age, they do not have the motor skills yet to move around, and learn to swim. After 2 years old, kids are able to really start learning and moving in the water. If you or your child already knows how to swim, we offer stoke techniques as well. We have swim instructors on staff that specialize in all different levels and areas. How Many Swim Lessons Should I Schedule a Week? Two swim lessons a week is a magic number, but any amount you do will be better than nothing. The more you schedule, the faster the swimmer will learn and progress. Your swim instructor will have a better idea of progress after a few swim lessons with the swimmer.
